As we watch the networks commemorate the victimhood of New Orleans, let us celebrate the forgotten hundreds of thousands of Mississippi Gulf Coast residents who worked to repair, restore, and replace their homeland without so much as a whimper. Mississippi exhibited everything good about America, New Orleans exhibited everything gone wrong with America.

It's disappointing to see all the focus on NOLA, when so many others lost just as much. I doubt the others are having big name celebrities rebuilding their homes and hanging about. It's also disappointing to see "Brownie" resurfacing and claiming none of what happened was his responsibility. By default, leaders take responsibility.

They really were over the top on this one. Even the weather channel suspended it's weather on the 8's to perform their melodrama. I did see at least a hint on ABC that Nagan and the governor were to blame for the lack of last minute vehicles and coordination. I hope this press extravaganza is over. I'll bet most of the TV's in Mississippi were turned off yesterday...
