Assuming you are talking about wood chunks/chips to add to a charcoal fire, and not the actual heat source??

If you have a cabinet shop or a furniture/woor\dworking close by youmight check with them for scrap ends. We have a hickory handle making shop that sells chunks of wood by the pickup load very cheap.
