I have been browsing the web with Firefox for years.  I always thought that a lot of the web was wacky until i realized most problems were with microsoft's IE.  Their protocols are HAIRY and screw up a free lunch.

For those of us who run websites, I can tell you, IE (esp older versions) causes more errors and therefore you have to dumb everything down on your site so it will run smoothly.

Yes, I have heard that IE version 9 is totally new and supposed to run as secure as Firefox, Chrome and Safari.  Maybe so but I am past the point of trusting microsoft products.

So those of you who still browse with IE please do us all a favor and switch to firefox or chrome.  It matters.

At the very least please update to IE 9.

I'm with you 100% and I too switched to Firefox years ago. It works much cleaner for most applications and its what most of the tech savvy computer geek generation I know uses (in addition to the others you mentioned). I find it hard to believe so many folks are still using IE as their primary system.

Over 80% of the users use IE, so that means over 80% of Bruce's website visitors utilize IE.  I have IE, Firefox, Chrome, Sea Monkey, Netscape, Opera, Web TV simulator and several more, bet you never heard of Sea Monkey as that was a new one on me.
