Michelle Bachmann quips Irene and quake were messages from God

SARASOTA, Fla. — Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign says she was only kidding when she suggested Hurricane Irene and the East Coast earthquake were a message from God.
Sunday evening in Sarasota, Fla., the Minnesota Republican quipped that the federal government’s deficit spending may finally have provoked a divine response.
Bachmann said, "I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We’ve had an earthquake; we’ve had a hurricane. He said, ’Are you going to start listening to me here?’"
Bachmann’s campaign is reportedly downplaying the remark.
Talking Points Memo says an email from a Bachmann campaign spokeswoman states it’s obvious that "she was saying it in jest."

Geez GF, can't you take a joke? I guess that is more important than thinking we have 57 states. I also think she probably knows how to pronounce corpsman...or corpse-man as the Messiah calls it.
GF, y'all on the looney left need to relax......Bachman is not going to be the GOP nominee. All I can do is laugh at the vitriol and hatred of the left toward any conservative woman. I guess unless she believes in abortion on demand, thinks taxing the rich is the path to prosperity and Keynes was right she has to be destroyed. Didn't you get the memo from the Messiah himself that we need to change the tone.
And by the way, have we seen the Messiah's grades yet? Saw an interesting piece about his academic record and it is obvious why he hasn't released his grades.........I too would be ashamed......

If the emperor was correct, we would have 59 stars on the USA flag, not just the 50 we have for the last 50+ years. Not quite as comical as Biden compelling the paraplegic to walk. Or that pillar of modern liberalism, AlGore, comparing AGW deniers to racists, yet seeming to forget his daddy filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for 18 or 19 hours. I understand how these can be forgotten in the panic brought on by Hurricane Irene, with highest sustained winds placing it solidly in Category Feh. Or perhaps the panic is rooted in the latest Rasmussin, Gallup, or even AP polls that show nearly every declared candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination, except the lovely and talented Mrs Bachman BEATING the zero. See, there is hope for change. Can't come soon enough. Even today, chairman o appoints his newest CoEA chair. He was a Princeton professor. A great addition to an administration made up of almost entirely of academics and public sector employees, because everything else they have accomplished has worked just so damn well.
