What are the complications, if any, that can come from moving a boat from salt water to fresh water. I found a great little deal on a good dive/fishing boat, and was wondering if it would be worth it.

Transporting it would probably be your biggest worry. :-)

I would be extremely careful with this purchase. We had a boat at the coast and maintenance was a real chore. You need to check for corrosion in the motor housing, the cooling system, etc. Additionally, you should probably check the electrical conection points (i.e. under the dash, bilge, battery,...). If the boat has ever had salt water in the bilge, it can really mess things up. Ever tried loosening a bolt that is rusted over from salt water? Good luck!

It also might make Dadeville into Salt Lake City, Alabama.

I am home in Virginny. We are getting plenty of rain but nothing like you folks are going to get. My Mother is safe and off of Ono Island, but I have a lot of concern about anything down in that area. I saw the news last night of 65 North, and it looked much like 95 does up here all the time - every lane bumper to bumper. My prayers and thoughts for all in the path of Ivan. Just heard of two deaths in Panama City from a tornado stirred up by Ivan.
