The "War of Northern Aggression" WAS NOT about slavery. It WAS about State's Rights. A concept long since forgotten, unfortunately. The concept of a strong central governemnt was what the Revolution was against. To paraphrase the 10th Amenendment, all powers NOT granted to the federal government, or prohibited from the federal government, or given to the States or TO THE PEOPLE. Most of the signatories of the Constitution REFUSED to sign WITHOUT this clause.

A strong centralized government ALWAYS gives way to tyrants.

The war was largely over states' rights to have slaves. Read your Lincoln. He says it clearly.
