I HAVE A 175 BAYLINER WITH 135 HP MERCRUISER ENGINE WITH ALPHA 1 OUTDRIVE.
THE BOAT IS KEPT ON A LIFT IN A BOAT HOUSE.
RECENTLY I NOTICED ABOUT 1-2 GALLONS OF WATER WHEN I TURNED THE BILGE PUMP ON. I RAN ABOUT 5 GALLONS OF GAS THROUGH IT AND PICKED UP 1 GALLON OF AWTER.
IS THIS NORMAL? IF NOT WHAT SHOULD BE THE COURSE OF ACTION?
That is not normal. What year is the boat? Are all the bellows old, and perhaps in need of replacement? If so, have it done, or you may be replacing gimble bearing and U-joints too. My .02 worth. Steve
No, not expensive. If you do all the Bellows, maybe you will spend les that $450 or so. Including Impeller being that is is already apart. Ten years is a good service life for items we are talking about. Probably a good time for a good service on the business end of the boat.
Please call 334-358-2838 and I will give you directions to one of two locations. Probably will send you to Prattville, about 45 minutes or so from Martin.
