In exactly 1 hour, I will leave this traffic-infested, polluted, crime-ridden excuse for a city and head to the lake. I will play golf at Stillwaters this afternoon, golf at the AU Club tomorrow morning and will not leave until late Monday afternoon to come home. I will cook Ribeye staeks tonight, Oskar's tomorrow and grilled Salmon Sunday. Oh, and I almost forgot, many boatrides on a full lake and many beers will be drank. Eat your heart out you commoners.

Sounds great, lamont.

I have to leave Sunday going to New Orleans and get on a cruise ship. We both have our burdens....... :-)

But, will be back on the lake in 2 weeks.

Have fun!

I agree with you on most points. Except I have been to Oskar's at least 3 times and the wait is long, the septic tank smells, and the food is not that good. Am I missing something. Please let me know because everyone seems to love it.

Oscar's sux!!! It use to be good about five years ago but the more business they have gotton the worse the food is. We have not been there in about three years. They use to have the best fried shrimp and catfish plate around, now it is a greasy pile of crap.

I will not got so far to say anything extreme but we did have lunch there last month and the food had changed. I had the chesseburger which normally had a huge meat patty (handmade). This time it was a pre-formed thinner patty not unlike Sonic burger. While still good.....nothing like it was before.....a little disappointing.

Have they changed owners?

No, Oskar still owns and she is till turning out great food. I had a hamburger there last Saturday and it was as good as always. Homemade patty with real ground beef.

This will be hard to be but I'll try, riding our Motorcycle to our place at the lake Wednesday morning, spending the day just lying around doing nothing, maybe a little fishing. We'll have a grilled steak and baked potato that night . Thursday morning we meet some friends and ride to PCB for Thunder Beach and there's no telling what will happen there, much beer, food, wild parties maybe a wet tee-shirt contest or three and plenty of cruising the strip, try and hand out some Mardi Gras beads for a flash..............

CAT and family are headed out next wednesday night headed to Ponchatula La. for a 200 mile poker run. We'll spend two days, Thursday and Friday with our Cajun friends, and Saturday do the poker run down the tickfaw river into Lake MausPaus, and on into Lake Ponchartrain. Head across to New Orleans, back North to Madisonville, and then return back up the swamps and bauyous to "Crazy Charlies". Friends, fast boats, cajun cookin' , goodlookin' ladies and riden' in the swamp. Das what I'm talkin' bout bodrouex! There are some cool pics from last year on Cathouse website. Yall keep things safe at the lake.

Glad someone else spoke up regarding Oscar's. I am confused again why there is such widespread acclaim for Oscar's when their overall qualitiy has diminished so dramatically over the years. I choose to spend my diner dollars elsewhere these days.

Thanks Bishop.

Sure, with fuel prices the way they are, I probably would.

We it burns 92 octane and gets about 40 mpg on a great day.
92 is at about 4.00+ now around here, I'm sure the cat burns that as well.
Maybe I better re-think this..............
