I have been to the LMOB. So I am a critic and a consultant. I had a dozen ABC Oysters. A= Anorexic B= Bulimic C= Crack addicted. Of the dozen I got, 2 were a healthy size, 5 were average and the others were in one of the catagories listed above. If I had been in charge of the kitchen, half of my order would NEVER have gone out unless in a sandwich or prepared dinner where the 'count' is not the key.

If I were Oyster, I would not count on a good first few weeks to indicate what future business may be. Everybody goes in the first weeks, not all come back. A little humility goes a long way. From my observations, it appears that maturity may be in short supply. While I was there the 'owner' came in and made a big to do about going down the road to "p!ss off one of his competitors" by showing up there. He should have been paying attention to what was coming out of his kitchen and what his employees were doing, not his competitors. Mentioning his millitary service and football 'expereince' were shameful ploys to try and drive customers to the place. I doubt it worked. It certainly had the oppisite effect on me.

The arrogance shown here is even more evident when you see him in person. The place may make it, it may not, either way it will be a direct result of Oysters behavior. If it does it will be in spite of him, not because of him. If I were him, I would work on being at my business and watching what is happening with my customers instead of going down the road to play poker and 'p!ss off' the competiion. And the comment today about his bank deposit was the last straw for me. I won't be back. I had better, cheaper oysters last week just down the road.

Finally, happy days are here again. The forum is getting back to to its old ways. It's been so boring here lately. If I were an owner of a business I would not be posting my thoughts on a forum. This will no doubt drive some customers away. After hearing that the oysters are $12.95 for 6 and Oysters comments I doubt I will give it a try. I would just use this forum as one type of feedback to improve my business. Take it as constructive criticism and move on. To post and argue with forum members when you are a business owner is just plain stupid!!!

I agree with you Swimmer27. The owner (Oyster) has p!ssed me off with his comments on this forum. I feel like he is talking down to what could be his customers. I ate there last Saturday and I doubt that I will go back. I can fry shrimp as good or better than what I had and the oysters were nothing to talk about at almost $9 a dozen.

Where is that other " Oyster Bar " located?

Many years ago (when I was a young officer), we were taught that respect must be earned. Talking about "doing great things" is nothing like great accomplishments (and seeing others to do the talking from a position of respect). From my experience, most who achieve success work hard in maintaining strengths and recognizing (then correcting) weaknesses....too much talk and not enough work is often a weakness that leads to failure.

Just go further out 34 past the Rodeo, CT's, and Dawgs. At the intersection by Dawgs it is on top of the hill on the other side of the road. There is a store and the bar is on the far end.
