Must be too hot to fish. I know I can't take the heat! An ole shade tree and a cold glass of iced tea sho' is good this time of year.

For the record I am fishing but not on the lake. I wrapped that up about May first but the saltwater has been the latest stuff. I'm still waiting for the results of the delayed mortality study that AU is doing on the lake to learn what the mortality rates are in the summer especially above 80 degrees before I wet a hook in martin as I've had a lot of big fish die in the summer and really don't know how many died that we got to go back down. Seems like it will some interesting stuff and atleast we will know the truth!

I would save the striper fishing for the cooler months. Good luck Alahusker. Keep us posted on your progress. I agree with Lee that you risk killing the larger stripe if you are planning on releasing them. The stripe are so large that they require alot of oxygen. It's hard for them to get the oxygen they need in the 80+ degree water especially after a fight.

good lee, yea i was just wandering as i havent seen you around. as for the weather, fish RIGHT at daylight and just know as the sun gets higher you must fish deeper. we are still fishing and will be throughtout the summer. Fishing is still good but we don't catch many above 20 lbs, anymore. we focus on schoolies around 10-15 lbs. i have never caught a fish above high 20s when the water is this hot, and the ones we release below that seem to do fine. Lee, post the Au results when they come in please.
