Singer – songwriter Rachael Wilson was born and raised in Alexander City. For her, it’s a place that holds a lot of memories. And it’s also the place she discovered her love of music, with a lot of assistance from her family. “Music was always therapy for me. It was a happy place,” Wilson said. “I was homeschooled. That’s kind of where my parents pushed me because they saw how much I loved it.” Wilson says she was a huge Beatles fan, but Nanci Griffith and Joni Mitchell were her heroes growing up. Her tastes in music range from blues to folk to pop country. Cover songs are her bread and butter, because a lot of times most people want something familiar, but she does work her original songs into the mix “Getting to make music is such a blessing,” Wilson said. “I just want to play what people want to hear.” Grab your comfy stuff, the neighbors, and the leash for the pup and join us Friday, On The Green!!

Russell was born in Dothan, Alabama with an ear for music and a passion for helping others. As a child, Russell was diagnosed with a rare genetic eye condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). He began his musical training when he was just 10, first learning to read music with the help of magnification and later by training his ear to identify the pitches. Russell has been performing in front of large audiences since he was a freshman in high school. Throughout his career, Russell has been the opening act for country music legends and other popular Nashville recording acts. In addition to his live performances, Russell has written and recorded a number of original tunes. His two latest singles, “Rain” and “I’m Over You,” as well as his album “Call Me the Rain” are available on all music streaming apps. When Russell is not on stage, he is working with children and adults with disabilities. He currently works at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) as a vocational evaluator. Whether in the classroom or on the big stage, Russell Craig is always ready to inspire and encourage others to reach their potential and follow their dreams. Bring the comfy stuff, the kids, the pup – on a leash, and join us this Friday, On The Green!

FREE EVENT! It’s great to welcome back to the Green Stage, Jilla Webb. Jilla is an extraordinary performer, artist, and educator. An original talent, her expressive singing style, and versatility perfectly complement a variety of styles. And, as a Professor of Practice at Auburn University, she is passing on her expert knowledge to the next generation of commercial music artists. If you haven’t already, you should make it point to catch one of the Sonic Nation (Commercial Music Ensemble) performances at Auburn University! What they are doing there, with the help of Jilla, is phenomenal! Jilla has performed at events in Las Vegas Casino’s, theaters, and other venues from Singapore to Los Angeles. Some of her commercial credits include singing commercials for NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, and the WB. She was the vocal talent for Regis and Kathy Lee, Candid Camera, Dharma and Greg, Hawaiian Air, Rosie O’Donnell, and Must-See TV, to name a few. Still an active performer and recording artist, Jilla is recording a new solo original record. You can also find her CD featuring her mom’s Harry James Orchestra arrangements on iTunes, and her albums, “Balance” and “Timeless” on her website. “I’m looking forward to more recording, touring and teaching. Let’s keep music alive and pass it on to the next generation of extraordinary artists!” ~ Jilla Webb.

FREE EVENT! Webb Dalton has a love for music and justice, and has spent decades finding ways to honor both. “I’ve been at it,” said Dalton, a musician for more than 40 years. “You’d think I was 90 years old.” “The type of music I do is like rockabilly, honky tonk and rock and roll,” Dalton said. “It’s kind of a mix. I never really cared for labels. I enjoy different kinds of music, but I was raised on country.” Along with music, Dalton has spent the past 33 years in law enforcement. Not too long ago, he moved back to his hometown of Montgomery with his job about a year ago. Grab your comfy stuff, leash for the pup and come join us this Friday, On The Green.

FREE EVENT! Some artists need a fair amount of hit-and-miss time to develop their songwriting acuity, while others have a clear sense of self and know exactly how to put their best foot forward with the words they pen and the music they make, right out of the box. Born in Montgomery but spent a lot of time on Lake Martin, the now Nashville-based singer-songwriter Wyatt Edmondson is planted firmly in the latter category. Come hang out with your pals Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads as Russell Lands Presents – Friday On The Green. Grab your comfy stuff and leash for the pup, then join in for a great time with the fam, friends, and really cool tunes! See you Friday, On The Green!
